Tommy Bentz is a masterful songwriter and blazing guitarist (some call him the Guru of Groove). Frontman for the Tommy Bentz Band, which tours frequently in the U.S. and the U.K., Tommy is also a seasoned solo performer, well-known from the Coulee region to the Twin Cities and (far) beyond. He's currently putting the finishing touches on a new album with the band, the first since 1000 Reasons was released in 2021.
Jon Loomis is professor emeritus of creative writing at UWEC--he's a widely published poet and novelist and former frontman of the Flaming Doublewides, and has been writing songs on the side since high school. His recently released album, The King of Good Intentions, does not appear on the Billboard charts for some reason, but is still pretty dang good.
Tommy and Jon plan to trade off acoustic originals (and possibly play along on a cover or two, who knows?), so kind of a songwriter round, complete with stories, probably some jokes, and definitely a chill vibe. Come on out to the Mabel Tainter Spirit Room and hang with pals, indulge in a delightful adult beverage or two, and catch a boatload of funny yet soulful yet thoughtful yet heartfelt yet--okay, you get the picture. And brace yourselves for a certain amount of audience participation, even!
